Over 80 representatives from Japan’s top universities and research institutions recently gathered to hear Yariv Kursh, Senior Vice President and General Manager at Clarivate, present the latest findings from the company’s Pulse of the Library survey.
The report offers a comprehensive look at how libraries around the world are evolving in response to technological and societal change. A central theme of this year’s survey is the growing integration of artificial intelligence (AI) in library systems – from enhancing resource discovery and workflow efficiency to personalizing user experiences.
While AI is unlocking new possibilities for librarians and researchers alike, the report also highlights ongoing challenges in adoption, upskilling, funding, and ethical governance. These insights reflect a global dialogue on how libraries can responsibly harness innovation to better serve their communities.
Kursh emphasized that libraries remain at the heart of academic and research excellence:
“Libraries continue to play a vital role in advancing education and scholarship. At Clarivate, we are proud to empower their transformation through data, technology, and insights that shape the future of knowledge discovery.”
Through initiatives like the Pulse of the Library report, Clarivate reaffirms its commitment to supporting libraries worldwide as they navigate the opportunities and complexities of the digital era.
