The National Library of Thailand (NLT), the country’s premier repository of knowledge and cultural heritage, has selected Alma and Primo to support its vision for a unified, future-ready library services platform.
Preserving Thailand’s knowledge and heritage
Founded in 1905, the National Library of Thailand plays a vital role in preserving the nation’s manuscripts, historical records, and intellectual legacy. With specialized libraries and 11 regional branches, NLT supports research, nationwide learning, and expanding digital access for patrons across the country.
Advancing digital transformation with a unified platform
As part of its ongoing digital transformation strategy, NLT sought a single, unified platform to manage both physical and digital resources while enhancing discovery and access. Alma and Primo were selected to deliver cloud-based library services that streamline operations, support modern workflows, and enable continuous innovation through automatic updates and analytics. Together, these solutions provide a scalable foundation for improved services and a more intuitive discovery experience for researchers and learners nationwide.
A shared vision for modern library services
“Adopting Alma and Primo marks an important step forward in our journey toward a fully integrated and digitally enabled national library,” said Ms. Bubphar Chuchat, Director of the National Library of Thailand. “These solutions will allow us to manage our collections more effectively, expand access to digital resources, and better serve researchers and citizens across Thailand. We value the strong partnership behind this project and look forward to the impact it will have on our services and our patrons.”
Supporting today’s needs and future growth
The implementation includes Alma, Alma Digital, and Primo VE, providing end-to-end management of physical and digital collections alongside a modern discovery experience. Together, these solutions will help the National Library of Thailand strengthen its role as a cornerstone of the country’s intellectual and cultural infrastructure—today and for generations to come.
