Ex Libris is proud to announce that Universidad de las Américas Puebla (UDLAP), one of Mexico’s most prestigious private universities, has chosen Alma, Alma Digital, Primo, and Leganto to support the evolving needs of its library.
Founded in 1940, UDLAP celebrates its 85th anniversary this year, along with 55 years in the city of Puebla. Renowned for its commitment to academic excellence, the university offers a wide range of high-quality programs across five schools: Arts and Humanities, Sciences, Social Sciences, Engineering, and Business and Economics. Its impressive campus features cutting-edge laboratories, state-of-the-art sports facilities, and vibrant community spaces that foster both learning and innovation.
For more than a decade, UDLAP has been a satisfied customer of Aleph, valuing the strong service and support it has received from Ex Libris. As the institution’s needs evolved, however, the university sought a more modern solution that could deliver advanced capabilities—particularly in electronic resource management, data-driven insights, and streamlined library workflows.
Following a live demonstration of Alma and its AI-powered features—including Alma Digital and Leganto—and close collaboration with key stakeholders, the UDLAP team chose to migrate to Alma for its robust system architecture, security standards, and seamless integration with existing institutional systems.
“What we were seeking with Alma, Primo and Leganto was to provide students and faculty with an integrated environment that makes accessing bibliographies, electronic resources, and digital collections both intuitive and secure.”
— Antonio Razo, Library Director, Universidad de las Américas Puebla
Ex Libris is honored that UDLAP has once again placed its trust in us. With this transition, the university is well positioned to elevate its library services, enhance user experiences, and continue delivering academic excellence into the future.
