Yesterday, we publically announced our support of the National Information Standards Organization (NISO) Open Discovery Initiative(ODI).

Along with Credo, Gale, IEEE, and SAGE who have also announcedtheir support and conformance with ODI’s recommendations earlier this week, we are pleased to see an increased collaboration and transparency among discovery and content providers. We believe that this type of support and increased conformance with ODI recommendations will benefit customers and stakeholders in the content and discovery arena.

As one of the founders and an active member of ODI, Ex Libris places special attention to maintaining content neutrality, in order to offer customers the most relevant search results. As such, we already fully comply with the related ODI recommendations, including the ranking of search results, linking to content, inclusion of materials in Primo Central, and discovery of open access content.
