Alma users continue to benefit from a reliable development approach that delivers significant new management enhancements provided through quarterly releases. The August 2024 Feature Release contains eight items submitted by customers, along with several enhancements and key development milestones that span collaborative digital resource management, user interface design, and new capabilities across key areas of Alma.
A key highlight of the release is the ability to enhance the capabilities and improve the experience for staff members working in a centralized office in a collaborative network. A new Consortia Central Configuration Dashboard allows for easy access to all consortia members’ configurations, within the Network Zone, without needing to log in to each member institution. This enables those working in the central office to work more efficiently, reducing time spent applying central policies.
Beyond the many other key enhancements made available across Alma, as detailed through both Alma August release highlights and release notes, two notable developments that excite customers are the “All Titles Search” and the “Manage Patrons Services UX” makeover. Both items are now in the early access phase, where customers are getting to experience new capabilities created as a result of the Ex Libris collaborative development process with its customers through its UX Focus Group.
“We are consistently meeting the library needs of our customers, by working with them and for them,” said Dana Moshkovits, Senior Director of Product Management at Ex Libris™, part of Clarivate™. “Our ability to regularly design, develop, and deliver enhancements and functionality is founded upon the principle that customer collaboration and involvement to the enrichment of Alma is critical to its continued, market-leading success.”
The 2024 release and maintenance schedule for Alma customers continues through the remainder of the year, with another feature release in November and maintenance and Analytics releases in September, October, and November.
