Ex Libris, part of Clarivate, is pleased to present the latest iteration of the Alma Roadmap for the years 2024 and 2025. The two-year plan provides a detailed, high-level overview of features and enhancements to be developed. The community-driven roadmap is updated on semi-annual basis to ensure that libraries can take advantage of the latest resource management services available.

Innovation for Alma library management system continues to address current and future needs of libraries, with a focus on helping library staff manage their resources more efficiently and effectively. The new Alma roadmap highlights an array of features and functionalities spanning Acquisitions, Metadata Management, Resource Management, Fulfillment, and more. Key themes for the upcoming year are Workflow Simplification, Linked Data for libraries, Authority Management, Consortia Management and Open Access.

Central to the development of this roadmap, and the resulting enhancements, is the guidance provided by the global customer community. The customer community connects with Ex Libris product management staff and influences development priorities through the Ex Libris Idea Exchange, the New Enhancements Request System (NERS) run by the IGeLU and ELUNA user groups, listserv posts, product working groups, and more.

“The continued support of the Alma community, now over 2500 libraries and 160,000 users strong, is taking the service to the next level,” said Dana Moshkovits, Senior Director of Product Management at Ex Libris. “Our unwavering commitment to improve resource management and enable libraries achieve greater success will continue this year, next year, and for years to come.”

Though extensive in nature, this roadmap does not include every planned enhancement for each quarterly release. Ex Libris monitors customer and industry needs to further refine the roadmap and release additional updates.
