June 25, 2025

We’ve just wrapped another incredible week of connection and progress at ELUNA, our community’s annual gathering in North America.

Hosted this year in Atlanta, Georgia, the event brought together over 700 library professionals, technology leaders, and product innovators from around the globe. With close to 250 first-time attendees, the conference embodied a spirit of openness, user-driven innovation, and a collective commitment to shaping the future of libraries in an AI-driven academic landscape.

From cutting-edge tools to strategic vision, ELUNA showcased the power of community collaboration. During the opening keynote, Yariv Kursh, GM and SVP at Clarivate, shared our 2025 strategy, announced key product and feature launches, and reaffirmed our ongoing advocacy efforts to secure Federal funding for academic libraries.

Across four plenary sessions and more than 30 breakout discussions led by both customers and Clarivate teams, attendees explored practical solutions, shared success stories, and co-created new ideas — all in the spirit of shared progress.

Key Themes from the Week Included:

  • AI in Action: Tools like Alma’s conversational AI, Discovery Research Assistants, and the Leganto Syllabus Assistant are empowering librarians to streamline workflows and enhance user experiences.
  • Impactful Innovation: Next-gen platforms such as Vega for Academic and Alma Specto are transforming discovery and engagement across the library ecosystem.
  • Community at the Core: New launches, including the Known Issues Portal and Next Discovery Experience updates, reflect direct input from our user groups.
  • Teaching & Learning: A new platform under development will strengthen faculty and student success through deeper integration of pedagogy and content.
  • Wider Collaboration: From individual institutions to multi-library consortia, real-world implementations showed how shared goals lead to shared success.

While ELUNA may be an annual event, the collaboration it fosters is ongoing. We remain committed to working with our community year-round, continuing the conversations, co-creating solutions, and supporting library success in a rapidly evolving world.
