The new Get It Now Add-on from Copyright Clearance Center (CCC) allows Rapido members to purchase an article with just two clicks, and without leaving the Rapido interface. With a goal to ensure that no borrowing request goes unfilled, this integration expands the number of options available for fulfilling user requests and empowers the library staff to purchase requested articles directly through Rapido.
The Get It Now Add-on is the latest release of a long-standing relationship and integrations between CCC and Ex Libris, part of Clarivate. When a user is unable to find a desired resource in the library collection, Rapido provides an intuitive, student-centric way to request the item from another library. The Get It Now Add-on extends that functionality if the item is unavailable by providing an easy and cost-effective purchase option. The Add-on accesses the Get It Now database of more than 19,000 leading journals and millions of articles and displays availability and pricing information directly in the Rapido workflow. On librarian approval, a full-text PDF of the requested journal article can often be delivered in under two minutes.
Several institutions worldwide have already downloaded and installed the Get It Now Add-on in the cloud app.
While the Get It Now Add-on is freely available for download, activating the purchase capability through Get It Now involves a one-time setup fee.
