The unified Alma and Primo interface will provide the Alphacrucis College community with efficient global access to all library resources and research collections
Adelaide, Australia—December 2, 2020. Ex Libris, a ProQuest company, is pleased to announce that Alphacrucis College (AC) has selected the Ex Libris Alma® library services platform along with the Ex Libris Primo® discovery solution to streamline the management of library resources and research materials. These systems will replace multiple products.
With campuses and partnerships throughout Australia and around the world, AC is guided by its vision to transform neighborhoods and nations. Through the Alma platform and Primo discovery tool, AC will now be able to offer multilingual search functions, access to hundreds of thousands of online resources, and a single catalog for searching in all physical and online collections.
A key factor in our choice of the Alma platform is its sophisticated analytics on data collation and reporting.
Professor Denise Austin, AC’s Deputy Vice President Research and Standards and Australasian Pentecostal Studies Centre (APSC) Director, states, “The Alma and Primo services will provide global access to the digital archives of the APSC, which the National Library of Australia deems nationally significant to the history of Australian spirituality. The APSC holds one of the largest collections of Pentecostal and charismatic archives in the southern hemisphere. This exciting advancement will make a major contribution toward research into spirituality across the Asia Pacific region.”
“A key factor in our choice of the Alma platform is its sophisticated analytics on data collation and reporting,” she adds. “This functionality enables the library to analyse resource usage and the effectiveness of current resources in improving services for users. We believe that the Alma and Primo implementation will revolutionize the way our print and online resources are accessed and managed.”
Osher Gilinsky, Ex Libris Corporate Vice President and General Manager of APAC, comments, “We are delighted to support Alphacrucis College with a reliable, efficient, and easy-to-use solution for library staff, faculty members, and students around the world. The simplicity of the single interface provided by the Alma and Primo implementation will extend the discoverability of the institution’s resources and improve usage across all AC campuses.”
