Key agricultural research center to enhance library services with integrated library system from Ex Libris
Prague, Czech Republic – December 28, 2006. The Ex Libris™ Group is pleased to announce that the Czech University of Agriculture (CUA) in Prague has chosen ALEPH® 500 as its new integrated library system. System implementation began in November 2006, and the system is expected to reach full operation in the summer of 2007.
We have been looking for a system that will enable us to increase our library and information services and facilitate the use of our collection, said Daniel Nov?k, director of the Study and Information Centre at CUA. Examples of such services are the online reservation option and the ALEPH Course Readings module, which will support cooperation between the library and teaching staff while helping students work with varied information resources. We are sure that the university community and general public will benefit greatly from the capabilities of the ALEPH 500 system and its modules.
Pavel Krbec, distributor of Ex Libris solutions in the Czech and Slovak Republics, added, “With the introduction of the ALEPH 500 integrated library system at the Czech University of Agriculture, the strong position of Ex Libris in the academic and large scientific library market is expanding into the specialized scientific library market. In selecting the ALEPH system, the CUA library joins another leader of the agricultural information world in the Czech Republic, the Agricultural and Food Library.”
