Publishers and distributors continue to join forces with Ex Libris to provide content via the Primo Central mega-aggregate of scholarly e-resources
Jerusalem
, Israel—October 5, 2010. Ex Libris® Group is pleased to announce that many new information providers have agreed to contribute their content to the Primo Central index of scholarly materials, thus enhancing the discoverability of their content by the research community. Managed by Ex Libris in a cloud computing environment, the Primo Central service covers hundreds of millions of global and regional e-resources, such as journal articles and e-books obtained from primary and secondary publishers and aggregators, and items from open-access repositories.Organizations that have recently become members of the Primo Central Publisher Program include The American Association for the Advancement of Science (AAAS), American Psychological Association (APA), the Association for Computing Machinery (ACM), Berkeley Electronic Press (bepress), BioOne, British Standards Institute (BSI), Dawson Books, ebrary, IGI Global, Korea Information Science Society, LexisNexis, NuriMedia, Oxford University Press, Publishing Technology (IngentaConnect), Web of Science (Thomson Reuters) and Wiley-Blackwell. They join the rapidly growing number of leading information providers who are partnering with Ex Libris to provide integrated access to their online content.
The Ex Libris Primo® discovery and delivery solution, coupled with the vast Primo Central Index of scholarly materials, enables users to search the library’s entire collection—both physical holdings and e-resources—through a single point of access, and to receive a single, relevance-ranked list of results. Ex Libris representatives will be presenting Primo Central at the Frankfurt book fair from 6-10 October, at hall 4.2, booth L434.
”It is a pleasure to collaborate with Ex Libris in enhancing the discoverability of our scholarly materials,” commented Edward Gillespie, UK Business Development at Oxford University Press. ”We are confident that Primo Central’s ability to expose our e-resources to library users will help further our mission of increasing the availability of the highest quality research and scholarship.”
