Interdisciplinary resources from the RUCONT National Digital Resource will be available to all Primo Central users
Jerusalem, Israel—October 2, 2013. Ex Libris® Group, a world leader in the provision of library technology solutions, is pleased to announce that it has recently signed an agreement with BIBCOM Central Collector of Libraries, a principal aggregator of Russian scholarly content, to include its extensive collections in the Primo Central Index.
Offered as a cloud-based service to institutions around the globe, the Primo Central Index enables users to search hundreds of millions of scholarly e-resources of global and regional importance. These resources, which have been harvested from primary and secondary publishers and aggregators and from open-access repositories, include various types of content, such as journal articles, e-books, reviews, and legal documents.
The RUCONT National Digital Resource is an interdisciplinary full-text database of scholarly Russian-language resources in the arts, humanities, and natural and technical sciences, offered by BIBCOM CCL. Among the institutions whose research publications are included in RUCONT are Lomonosov Moscow State University, Saint Petersburg State University, and numerous regional universities.
”We are pleased to be making the rich content of the RUCONT National Digital Resource available to Primo Central users,” remarked Olga Judina, director of the center of electronic resources at BIBCOM CCL. ”One of our primary goals is to help make Russian-language content easily discoverable to students and researchers in other regions of the world, and this move will fully support that goal.”
Michal Gindi, director of publisher relations at Ex Libris, commented: ”We are happy to add the diverse content covered by the RUCONT database to Primo Central. Russian research libraries are playing a growing role in our customer community, and the addition of this resource helps further our commitment to including and offering regional content in the Primo Central Index.”
