The 23 campuses making up the California State University adopt Ex Libris solutions for their next-generation library platform
Chicago, Illinois—June 26, 2015. Ex Libris® Group, a world leader in the provision of library automation solutions, is pleased to announce that the California State University (CSU) has selected the Ex Libris Alma® library management service and Ex Libris Primo® discovery and delivery solution to deliver seamless, state of the art access to print and electronic resources for students and faculty. CSU campuses are migrating from various systems including Innovative Interfaces’ Millennium and Sierra, ProQuest’s 360 Link and Summon and from Ex Libris Voyager and SFX.
CSU is the largest senior university system in the nation, with 23 campuses, more than 460,000 students and 47,000 faculty and staff. The 23 campus libraries are leveraging next generation technologies and adopting a new collaborative platform. When selecting a new Unified Library Management System, the CSU looked for a solution that would facilitate discovery, unify resources, provide powerful analytics, and simplify workflows.
After a thorough evaluation, CSU concluded that the Ex Libris suite of solutions offers a comprehensive approach that will help the campuses improve services and enhance the user experience, all while automating and streamlining library operations across workflows and resource types.
”Access to library resources and services is essential for the success of our students, our faculty, and our staff. A shared library services platform will enable the collective expertise of CSU library faculty and staff to build greater library capabilities at more affordable costs,” said Gerry Hanley, assistant vice chancellor for academic technology services at the CSU Office of the Chancellor. ”With the adoption of Alma and Primo, our libraries will be able to share and compare user and collection data easily, enabling all campuses to better serve our users’ needs by providing rapid and comprehensive access to our print and digital collections and enabling us to manage our collections and services collaboratively and efficiently.”
“We are delighted to earn the trust of such a progressive group of institutions, whose leaders truly understand the power and importance of collaboration,” commented Eric Hines, president of Ex Libris North America. ”Ex Libris is proud to take part in helping the California State University System meet its goal of offering equally successful library services to users on all campuses.”
