This international award, presented by Ex Libris, recognizes innovation and its impact on the library community
Jerusalem, Israel—April 16, 2015. Ex Libris® Group, a world leader in library automation solutions, is pleased to announce that the 2015 Azriel Morag award for innovation is now open, and nominations from Ex Libris customers are invited. The late Azriel Morag, founder and first CEO of Ex Libris, believed in experimentation, daring, and the power of individuals to make a difference. This award will carry on his legacy.
The Azriel Morag award for innovation is presented to a librarian who demonstrates exceptional innovation and initiative during the two years leading up to the date of nomination. The winner’s accomplishments and the institution that the winner is associated with will be publicized globally.
Ex Libris invites institutions in the international Ex Libris community to submit nominations of qualified individuals by May 31, 2015. The winner will be announced at the IGeLU conference in September 2015. The panel of judges consists of representatives of Ex Libris and the company’s international user group (IGeLU). This year the judges are Guido Badalamenti, library director at the University of Siena; Fiona Burton, associate university librarian at Macquarie University; and Barbara Rad-El, senior librarian at Ex Libris.
The recipients of the 2014 Azriel Morag award for innovation were Curtis Thacker of Brigham Young University, for his exceptional innovations to the Primo user interface, and Gary Strawn of Northwestern University Library, who received a lifetime achievement award for his contributions to the Ex Libris developers’ community.
