Beijing, China—August 9, 2006. Ex Libris™ (China) is pleased to announce that Beijing University of Technology and Capital Normal University have selected the Ex Libris ALEPH® 500 library automation system, the MetaLib® library portal, and SFX®–the context-sensitive link server.
We are very happy to partner with Ex Libris to upgrade our library information service platform, says Professor Hu Yue, Director of Capital Normal University and Deputy Board Director of the Chinese Society of Library and Information. In addition to the thorough investigation carried out by our system evaluation team regarding Ex Libris professional services and technical support offered by local staff, we have witnessed the Companys fast growth in the Chinese market. This, coupled with the warm recommendations we have received regarding the Company from a well-known library system expert group, make us fully confident in our decision, adds Professor Hu.
After a long process of system evaluation, including attending the Companys user group meeting, visiting live sites, and holding thorough discussions with customers, we were impressed with the openness, flexibility, interoperability, and localized features of the Ex Libris systems, explains Professor Wei Yuhui, Acting Director of Beijing University of Technology. With the professional librarians of the local office, we look forward to the successful implementation of the systems, adds Professor Wei.
We are very proud to extend a warm welcome to Beijing University of Technology and Capital Normal University, the two most important Beijing universities funded by the Beijing Municipal Government, to join our ever-expanding Chinese customer base, enthused Mr. Fucheng Shen, Managing Director, Ex Libris China. We will work closely with our new customers to successfully move these two projects into production as soon as possible, as we have for all of our other customers in China.
