The next-generation reading list solution will help the library broaden its role in teaching and learning at the university
London, UK—August 17, 2016. Ex Libris®, a ProQuest company, is pleased to announce that the University of Bath is implementing the Leganto reading list solution from Ex Libris to enhance library support for teaching and learning. The university joins a growing global community of customers that are now able to integrate course reading lists with library processes.
Leganto is a standalone, cloud-based service for creating, maintaining, evaluating, using, and sharing course reading lists. Leganto facilitates collaboration between instructors, librarians, and students; makes the library a more active partner in the teaching and learning processes; gives librarians more control over copyright compliance; and helps librarians develop collections to optimally serve the institution’s academic goals.
University Librarian Kate Robinson commented: ”The needs of the library and our users have grown enormously over the years. With the new solution in place, we can move away from the spreadsheets and independent systems we have used up to now, develop workflows which support the increasing demands on our services, and work more closely with academic and e-learning colleagues to better support teaching and learning while managing costs and collections more effectively.”
”Through the integration of Leganto with Ex Libris Alma® and Primo®,” Robinson added, ”we will be able to integrate our back office workflows and front-end interfaces to underpin our strategic goal: providing access to the world’s knowledge through excellent services, 24/7, for the advancement of education and research at the University of Bath.”
Ofer Mosseri, corporate vice president and general manager of Ex Libris EMEA, remarked: ”We are happy to welcome the University of Bath to the Leganto community. An increasing number of institutions across Europe are now moving to Leganto to help them deliver a collaborative and efficient end-to-end library service that supports instructors, students, and researchers.”
