With the Ex Libris link resolver, a major Greek university will boost its research environment
Heraklion, Crete—January 4, 2006. The University of Crete, one of the leading institutions of higher education in Greece, has selected the SFX® link resolver from Ex Libris™ to assist students and staff in accessing and navigating the rich collection of electronic resources held by the University library. The SFX system will be a key component in the management of the Universitys digital library of dissertations, periodicals, and digitized rare documents. This digital library is the first of its kind in Greece.
The library of the University of Crete is delighted to join the growing community of SFX users, commented Grigoris Tzanodaskalakis, head of technology and information services at the University of Crete library. SFX will link our locally developed resources with our commercial resources to form an integrated solution that will meet users expectations for the digital environment. Our decision to select SFX was based on both the reputation of SFX as a leading product in the field and our successful collaboration with Ex Libris on our implementation of the ALEPH® 500 integrated library system.
Ori Ainy, Ex Libris sales manager, added, The choice of the SFX link resolver by such a prominent institution as the University of Crete further attests to the superiority of the system. We are sure that the SFX link resolver will facilitate research significantly for the universitys students and teaching staff.
