Seeking a flexible mobile platform for providing the university community with services and information, UM is the first institution in the United States to adopt campusM as part of the Ex Libris portfolio
Chicago, IL—April 19, 2016. Ex Libris®, a ProQuest company, is pleased to announce that the University of Montana (UM) has selected the Ex Libris campusM™ mobile campus solution to disseminate information and provide services to the campus community through a high-quality user experience. UM will benefit from the standards and best practices already built into the platform, avoiding the burden of building an app from scratch. The campusM solution will be in the hands of UM students, faculty, and administrative staff by fall of this year.
Offering faculty members, administrative staff, and prospective, enrolled, and graduating students a unified digital experience delivered through native apps and web portals, campusM delivers information and services of many types, including administrative communications, class schedules, grades, campus maps, library services, and announcements of campus events. The solution serves students, staff, and faculty on campuses throughout Europe, Australia, and South Africa.
The University of Montana is particularly interested in campusM’s core analytics and tracking features, which will enable faculty members to more effectively manage various classroom tasks. In addition, campusM’s ease of use as a cloud solution supported on Apple iOS, Android, and other mobile operating systems means that UM students will be able to quickly take advantage of university information that is accessible at their fingertips.
”We were seeking a flexible and easily integrated platform, one that would enable us to customize our app and make it really stand out while providing the stability of a hosted solution with a trusted partner,” commented Matt Riley, chief information officer at the University of Montana. ”The Ex Libris campusM solution fulfills all our requirements, and our cross-university technical and communication teams are excited to begin working with the professional staff at campusM. We look forward to giving our students and the entire university community a functional, highly engaging mobile experience.”
Derek Rathel, director of mobile solutions at Ex Libris North America, remarked: ”We are delighted that the University of Montana has expressed its confidence in Ex Libris once again by opting to deploy our native mobile application, campusM. The University of Montana has already seen tremendous value from our SaaS-based multitenant solutions and now its students, faculty, and administrators will benefit from a personalized and extendable app that will drive engagement, improve student retention rates and help increase enrollment. In addition, we are looking forward to the new applications that UM will develop by leveraging campusM’s application extension kit.”
