At Clarivate, Alma Analytics evolves through close collaboration with libraries. The Analytics Community of Practice provides a space where institutions share priorities, challenges, and ideas that directly influence development.
Here are some of the key enhancements recently delivered or planned for Alma Analytics, shaped by this collaboration.
More Control Over Local Data in Analytics
Beginning in February 2026, libraries will gain greater flexibility in defining which parts of MARC fields are sent to Analytics. Institutions will be able to choose whether or not to include indicators and select specific subfields for both bibliographic and holdings of data. This added control helps ensure that Analytics more accurately reflects local practices and supports meaningful reporting.
Predictable Title Updates for Better Planning
Starting in Q2 2026, title updates in Analytics will follow scheduled, predictable run dates. For consortia, member institutions will be updated together, supporting consistent data across the network. This predictability enables libraries to plan reporting cycles with confidence and maintain reliable comparisons across institutions.
Clearer, More Comprehensive Analytics Documentation
Improving transparency remains a priority. During 2025, documentation for 50 Analytics Data Dictionary tables was updated, making it easier for library staff who create reports to understand the data and use it effectively. Additional subject areas will be addressed in 2026 to further support the community’s work with Analytics.
A Community That Cares About Analytics
These enhancements reflect Clarivate’s commitment to listening closely to the Analytics Community of Practice. Community members are deeply involved, bring thoughtful ideas, and care not only about their own institutions but about the broader library community using Analytics. Their engagement helps ensure that Alma Analytics continues to evolve into a product that is practical, relevant, and genuinely helpful for libraries.
On behalf of Clarivate and the Alma Analytics product team, Hadas Granot, Product Manager for Alma Analytics, joins us in thanking the Analytics Community of Practice for their ongoing engagement, thoughtful contributions, and shared commitment to making Analytics the best it can be for the entire library community.
