Through the combined solution, scholars can search for funding opportunities directly from Esploro, and researcher profiles can be enriched with previously awarded grants
Jerusalem, Israel—June 15, 2021. Ex Libris, a ProQuest company, is pleased to announce the integration of the Ex Libris Esploro™ research information management solution and the Ex Libris Pivot-RP research funding solution. The integration enables research offices and faculty leaders to facilitate researchers’ access to global funding opportunities, enrich researcher profiles by capitalizing on the Pivot-RP database of previously awarded grants, and link publications to the grants that supported the research.
A recent Ex Libris–commissioned study indicates that finding high-quality research funding and diversifying funding sources are factors often considered top priority by research offices and scholars. The COVID-19 pandemic has exacerbated the funding landscape, leading to fewer opportunities in some disciplines. With the integrated Esploro and Pivot-RP solutions, researchers can access grants directly from their Esploro profile and easily discover funding that matches their area of expertise.
The combination of the Pivot-RP and Esploro solutions helps research administrators inform their research strategy and scale up their support for researchers.
Connecting research publications and grants also offers research administrators visibility into the impact of funding and facilitates compliance with funder mandates and governmental regulations. Esploro data can be exported to systems used for research administration, human resources, and other purposes, to simplify evaluation processes and national assessment reporting.
Nadav Doron, Ex Libris vice president of research information management solutions, commented, “We are excited to help Esploro and Pivot-RP customers streamline the research funding process and connect grant and publication data. An important milestone in the joint Esploro and Pivot-RP roadmap, this integration is aimed at reducing information silos and enhancing collaboration between the research office, library, and researchers through unified workflows.”
Eyal Kirshner, Ex Libris vice president of research funding solutions, noted, “Trusted by hundreds of research institutions worldwide, Pivot-RP covers funding opportunities that currently total over $80 billion. We are happy to harness this power to provide customers with broad research information management capabilities and improved workflows. The combination of the Pivot-RP and Esploro solutions helps research administrators inform their research strategy and scale up their support for researchers.”
