The Ex Libris Group is pleased to announce strategic changes to its senior management team. These management changes are designed to leverage the entrepreneurial spirit and vision that have characterized the Boston-based Information Services Division (ISD) team for the benefit of all Ex Libris products.
ISD, led by Oren Beit-Arie, was established in February 2000 to further develop and launch the SFX® link server acquired from Ghent University. ISD soon became the incubator for new products, including the MetaLib® library portal and Verde, the soon-to-be-released electronic resource management system.
Oren Beit-Arie has now assumed a new role as chief strategy officer. As such, he will focus on the strategic development of all Ex Libris products while exploring new product initiatives to meet market needs.
Jenny Walker extends her marketing responsibilities from ISD products to all Ex Libris products, and, as VP marketing, will be responsible for all corporate marketing activities, including product management.
In conjunction with the uniting all of the Ex Libris products under one umbrella from a strategic and product-management perspective, Ex Libris Inc. has also consolidated its customer-facing roles. Susan Stearns, director of operations for ISD, has been promoted to VP customer services. In this role, she will manage the North American implementation, training, and support teams for all Ex Libris products.
