Boston, MA
Ex Libris (USA) is pleased to announce that the Illinois Library Computer Systems Organization (ILCSO) has selected SFX® to be the consortiums link resolver. ILCSO is comprised of 65 libraries, which include 31 universities, 17 colleges, 10 community colleges, and 7 seminary or special libraries. ILCSOs site license will cover all 65 ILCSO libraries, which will have the option of running SFX centrally on the ILCSO server or installing it locally.
With this contract we demonstrate once again that SFX is not only the industrys leading link resolver, it is also the industrys only link resolver that can fit all models, from the single site to the complex consortium, and everything in between, commented Dan Trajman, President, Ex Libris, Inc. Not only that, but we have now reached a new milestone: more than 800 libraries worldwide have become SFX customers in the 5 years since Ex Libris acquired the SFX technology and introduced the concept of link servers and the OpenURL. SFXs continuing dominance in the heterogeneous library marketplace shows how well it has proved its ability to be integrated into a wide range of system environments.
ILCSO began their implementation in late May. More than half of their sites will implement SFX this summer, with the rest to follow before the end of the year.
