SFX and Verde will assist Keio University in managing and providing proper access to its annually-increasing number of electronic resources
_x000D_USACO Corp., Ex Libris Group’s Japanese distributor, is pleased to announce that the Keio University, one of the most prestigious institutions of higher learning in Japan, has chosen the Verde® Electronic Resource Management solution and SFX® context-sensitive link resolver—both by Ex Libris. Joining a community of over 15 Japanese institutions running Ex Libris systems, Keio University is the first to implement Verde.
_x000D_“Keio University has invested a great deal of time in finding a solution to manage and provide proper access to the institution’s ever-increasing number of electronic resources,” commented Mr. Yasuyuki Satoh, manager of technical and information technology services, Media Center Head Office, Keio University. “Clearly it is no longer possible to handle subscription data for a multiple-campus environment in a large Excel sheet. We strongly believe that the purpose of electronic resource management is to provide appropriate navigation for end users as well as services for library staff. We envision that the combination of these two excellent products–Verde and SFX from a single vendor—is the best match for this objective.”
_x000D_“Keio University was the one of the Japanese institutions that expressed the greatest need for an ERM system,” explained Mr. Yutaka Masuda of USACO Corp. “I am honored that the university has chosen Verde and SFX.”
_x000D_“We are very excited about this new contract with Keio University,” remarked Mr. Oded Scharfstein, vice president, Asia Pacific at Ex Libris. “Ex Libris Group has enjoyed a long and collaborative association with Keio University, which we are pleased, has been realized by the choice of our products to manage the institution’s growing electronic resource collection.”
