The college seeks to modernize its library services to better meet the needs of students and faculty
Chicago, IL—June 24, 2017. Ex Libris®, a ProQuest company, is pleased to announce that Virginia’s Lynchburg College has selected the Ex Libris Alma® library services platform and Primo® discovery and delivery solution to manage and expose the library’s electronic and print collections and to improve efficiency across the board with integrated workflows. The Ex Libris solutions will replace the Innovative Interfaces Millennium library system.
Lynchburg sought a robust solution that would integrate the college’s complex collections and enable its library to manage print and electronic resources more efficiently. In addition, the college wanted to partner with a vendor that has a long history and extensive experience in the library system business.
The Alma platform will streamline library workflows and processes at Lynchburg and strengthen the collaboration between library professionals, while Primo will provide Lynchburg’s students and faculty with unified access to both print and electronic resources. The comprehensive analytics capabilities offered by Alma and Primo will support Lynchburg’s collection development processes and help the library demonstrate its value to the college.
Jenny Horton, public services librarian at Lynchburg College’s Knight-Capron Library, said, ”With student engagement at the core of our mission, we are excited to offer enhanced discovery and to enable our staff to benefit from more efficient resource management workflows. The Alma and Primo solutions’ strong collaboration capabilities and advanced analytics will help us meet our strategic goals.”
Eric Hines, president of Ex Libris North America, commented, ”We are pleased to have Lynchburg College join the growing community of Alma and Primo customers in Virginia. With Alma, Lynchburg will be able to streamline library workflows for print and electronic resources and participate in resource sharing with other Ex Libris institutions.”
