Leganto will help the Library accomplish its mission to optimally support teaching and learning at RMIT University
Adelaide, Australia—April 20, 2016. Ex Libris®, a ProQuest company, is pleased to announce that the prominent Melbourne-based RMIT University has opted for the Leganto reading list solution and has joined the Leganto early adopter program.
Ex Libris Leganto is a cloud-based, end-to-end solution that works within an institutional environment and facilitates active, engaging collaboration between instructors, students, and librarians for the creation, management, use, and evaluation of course reading lists.
With the goal of simplifying the management and use of reading lists, the University selected Leganto for the easy access it gives students to reading list materials—print, electronic, and digital—all through a single interface. Another major factor in the University’s selection of Leganto was the solution’s seamless integration with the Ex Libris Alma® library management service, Ex Libris Primo® discovery and delivery system, and Blackboard® learning management system.
The RMIT University Library has always collaborated with instructors in providing access to its highly used print and electronic resources and will continue this partnership with a solution that is available to both parties. As an early adopter, the Library will join a global community of Leganto institutions that work closely with Ex Libris and are actively engaged in the development of Leganto functionality.
”We could see the potential of Leganto in providing an enriched solution for the presentation of reading lists to RMIT University’s student community,” said RMIT University Librarian Dr. Craig Anderson. ”Leganto will address the ongoing challenge of inaccurate and out-of-date reading lists. With this modern solution, we will be able to offer optimal support of teaching practices, provide a better student experience, and enhance learning outcomes.”
Ziv BenZvi, Ex Libris vice president for Asia Pacific, remarked: ”I am delighted to see RMIT joining the expanding Leganto community and supplementing the university’s Ex Libris suite of solutions with this innovative service. We look forward to continuing our longstanding collaboration with RMIT and responding to the specific needs of the region through the Leganto early adopter program.”
