A consortium of Tennessee Tech University and four community colleges plans to optimize collaboration and streamline workflows
Chicago, IL—January 5, 2016. Ex Libris®, a ProQuest® company, is pleased to announce that Tennessee Tech University and four affiliated community colleges—Motlow State, Pellissippi State, Roane State, and Volunteer State Community Colleges—have selected the Ex Libris Primo® discovery solution and Alma® resource management solution. These solutions will replace multiple systems, including Innovative Interfaces’ Millennium.
The consortium evaluated several products and concluded that Alma was the most advanced resource management solution available. High on the libraries’ agenda was the ability to administer the library system on the consortium level while also meeting the differing needs of the individual institutions. They also sought a solution that provided integrated resource management and resource discovery, creating a seamless experience for librarians and users. A further factor in their decision was the ability to integrate with external systems used by the libraries, such as the Copyright Clearance Center’s Get it Now service.
”We are happy to be working with Ex Libris and we are looking forward to implementing Alma and Primo at our institutions,” Douglas Bates, Dean of Library and Learning Services at Tennessee Tech University, commented. ”Ex Libris has a strong commitment to the future development of these solutions and we are confident that they will deliver excellent value for our investment. Alma and Primo will enable us to provide our users with the up-to-date discovery experience that they expect, while for staff members across the consortium workflows will become simpler and more streamlined.”
Eric Hines, president of Ex Libris North America, remarked: ”Tennessee Tech and its affiliated community colleges are joining the Alma and Primo communities at an exciting time. Our user-driven roadmaps featuring regularly released new advancements will allow TTU to enhance user and patron experience and drive librarian productivity. With its commitment to high quality technological education, Tennessee Tech will find that Ex Libris solutions support its teaching and learning goals and provide a seamless research environment for library users.”
