Ex Libris (Germany) is pleased to announce that the Hessen State-sponsored HeBIS consortium for management of electronic information resources has selected the Verde® electronic resources management (ERM) system. Verde will be implemented at HeBIS to manage the consortiums licensed databases and electronic journals.
The choice of Verde is the result of extensive market research, says Ms. Margot Wiesner, Head of the HeBIS consortium. Of utmost importance to us is the extensive consortial capability of Verde. In addition, Verde offers us a very large knowledge base of E-products, allowing us to save substantially on processing work. Beyond this immediate task, the consortium intends to use Verde to manage out-of-state licenses and relevant participants user data.
We are pleased to welcome the HeBIS consortium to the distinguished community of consortia in German-speaking countries that run Ex Libris products, says Marc Daubach, Corporate VP and General Manager Europe at Ex Libris. About HeBIS:
Funded by the Hessen Ministry for Science and Arts, the HeBIS consortium has been mandated to provide university and other network libraries with specialized electronic information in the form of journals and databases. The administrative unit for this mission, located at the Frankfurt City and University Library, is responsible for coordination of negotiations, concluding and renewing of consortium procurement contracts, as well as for market research and supply of relevant documentation.
