SLUB is building a digital repository of Saxony with Ex Libris Rosetta
Jerusalem, Israel—May 24, 2012. Ex Libris® Group, a world leader in the provision of library automation solutions, is pleased to announce that the Saxon State and University Library Dresden (SLUB) has chosen to preserve the digital assets of the Saxon libraries with Ex Libris Rosetta. SLUB is the legal deposit library of the Free State of Saxony and works closely with the Dresden Digitization Center, one of Germany’s leading centers of mass digitization.
In collaboration with the Dresden Center for Information Services and High Performance Computing, SLUB will launch an in-house digital repository, with a view to expanding the solution to the university libraries of Saxony. ”The long-term availability of digital assets is much less in the public and media spotlight than the production and presentation of new digital information. But it is equally important,” commented Achim Bonte, deputy director general of SLUB. ”Rosetta’s wide range of functionalities, all of which comply with international standards, enable us to plan for the future with complete peace of mind.”
”We are delighted with the decision of SLUB to adopt Rosetta,” remarked Ullrich Jüngling, vice president of sales, Central and East Europe, at Ex Libris. ”Following the successful implementation of the Primo discovery and delivery solution at SLUB, we are now expanding our partnership in the direction of the long-term preservation. For us, the SLUB Dresden, with its innovative approach is an ideal partner.”
