Library professionals and experts convened during the “Reunión de Usuarios de Ex Libris en Chile” to discuss the latest developments in libraries. Hosted at the Pontificia Universidad Católica de Chile, the day-long October event featured a series of presentations and discussions attended by 128 library staff, from 28 institutions, from five different countries.
The day exemplified the technological advancements taking root in Latin American libraries. A total of eight presentations and a panel discussion showcasing how libraries are adopting solutions to facilitate better access to library resources and simplify library management. Speakers delivered insights and experiences across a variety of topics, including:
- A journey towards innovation and transformation with Alma and Primo at the Pontificia Universidad Católica de Chile
- Best practices for using Leganto in the classroom and integrating technology to enhance learning experiences at the Universidad Católica Argentina
- Maximizing the use of Alma APIs and providing practical insights at the Universidad Autónoma de Chile
- The process and benefits of implementing Alma and Primo at the Universidad Continental in Peru and the Universidad de los Andes in Colombia
Beyond the customer presentations, Clarivate representatives provided details about future developments across its suite of Ex Libris services and how its driving innovation in close collaboration with the library community. Specific attention focused on expanding library access and improving management of digital collections, while emphasizing the importance of digital transformation taking place in libraries today.
The day’s program concluded with a lively panel Q&A session and then wrapped up a cocktail reception, providing opportunities for more knowledge exchange and extensive networking.
