Ex Libris™, part of Clarivate™, is excited to announce that Primo Research Assistant is now available for Primo institutions worldwide to activate and expose to their users!
As part of the ongoing collaboration with our community, we have been working to develop a library discovery solution enhanced with AI, to better engage students and empower them to intuitively search, explore and take maximum advantage of trusted library materials.
The Primo Research Assistant offers a new way of searching by combining the power of generative AI with intuitive conversational discovery. Say goodbye to clunky keyword searches and Boolean queries! Now, users can engage in natural language conversations with our Primo Research Assistant to uncover trusted library materials.
Based on a RAG (Retrieval Augmented Generation) architecture and grounded in the extensive Ex Libris CDI (Central Discovery Index), Primo Research Assistant provides a starting point to users for their research, including source referencing and appropriate attribution for the authors
Searching with the Primo Research Assistant surfaces an overview based on information from library sources. Those sources are included below the summary, making it easy for users to click and continue their research and learning journey, explore more results, refine their original query, or pursue a suggested related research question.
Our commitment to continuous development ensures that we remain at the forefront of discovery solutions for libraries, addressing the real-world needs and requirements of students and researchers of today – and into the future. The Clarivate Academic AI platform serves as a technology backbone for Primo Research Assistant, providing a secure, scalable and unified approach to how AI capabilities are deployed at Clarivate. At Clarivate, we are committed to the responsible application of generative AI, read more about it here
