Established in 1540 by St. Ignatius Loyola, Marquette University is a Catholic, Jesuit university located near the heart of downtown Milwaukee. Marquette offers a comprehensive range of majors in 11 nationally and internationally recognized colleges and schools. With 11,100 undergraduate, graduate, doctoral, and professional students, Marquette has been recognized as the sixth-best university in the United States for job placement.

In February 2022, Marquette announced that their Memorial Library be redeveloped into the state-of-the-art Lemonis Center for Student Success following a major financial gift to the institution. The new center will create a centralized home for student services—both professional and academic.

More than 2,400 libraries globally are using Alma to achieve higher levels of productivity by effectively managing print, electronic and digital resources and materials in a unified cloud-based system. The platform removes unnecessary silos by streamlining library management processes, that support all modern metadata and open standards. Libraries are able to grow with Alma through the release of new features and upgrades resulting from a published and forward-looking two-year roadmap, open apps supplied by the user community, application program interfaces (APIs), and third-party integrations.
