In this short film, you can learn from Andy Bussey how the University of Sheffield, in just a few easy steps, used Alma’s open APIs to integrate with a third-party payment processor to manage the online payment of fines.

Having already seen the benefits of enabling patrons to pay fines online, the University of Sheffield decided to integrate this with Alma. Students who have overdue fees are directed via Primo to a third-party payment provider, who handles the transaction and confirms successful payment to Alma.

This functionality has led to 60% of users paying fines online, thus dramatically reducing the time library staff spend handling cash.

This example from the University of Sheffield clearly demonstrates how customisable Alma is and how easy it is to integrate features which will save you time and money.

You can watch the recording of Andy’s presentation here.
