The largest and oldest technical university in Sweden, the Royal Institute of Technology (KTH) has chosen the Ex Libris Alma® library management solution. With the support of the Alma Analytics capability the Library will maintain and optimize their collection in a cost-effective way while also reducing their total cost of ownership. Library users will benefit from library staff who are better able to focus on customer-facing activities, as they have been relieved of mundane, repetitive and tedious tasks.

I spoke to Cecilia Heyman Widmark, Head of Media and IT at the KTH Library, who told me about the reasons for their decision: “Rationalising and improving our services will be a central issue for years to come and the Library required a system that offers flexible solutions for workflows and personalisation. For the same reason we required a solution that would both integrate with existing institutional and external systems—including our present Primo® discovery and delivery solution—and which has a clear roadmap so that it will grow with us in the future. With Alma, we have selected a solution which meets all of these criteria and more, and one that can efficiently handle the present and future services associated with an academic library.”
