The Ex Libris higher-ed cloud platform will be leveraged to speed the transformation to electronic access and improve discoverability of online resources
London, UK—July 15, 2020. Ex Libris®, a ProQuest company, is pleased to announce that Switzerland’s Kantonsbibliothek Graubünden (Cantonal Library Graubünden) has selected the Ex Libris Alma® library services platform and Primo® discovery and delivery solution. Serving 21 member libraries, the Cantonal Library Graubünden network will benefit from the efficiency of integrated workflows and the ability to offer remote access to library patrons across the canton, particularly important in today’s challenging times.
The Cantonal Library of Graubünden network has been using the Ex Libris Aleph® integrated library system for many years and is now eager to modernize its services with the latest SaaS library technology. With the Alma-Primo combination, the members of the Cantonal Library network will be able to integrate their services easily and manage all materials, whether in print, electronic, or online format, at a single point. Given the restrictions in today’s library climate, a cloud-based library solution is most convenient for enabling staff to carry out workflows and communicate with users remotely. Similarly, patrons of the member libraries will benefit from the ease of searching via the Primo discovery interface.
The Alma platform and Primo discovery solution will help us become more efficient in managing and delivering print and electronic resources for our libraries.
“The Alma platform and Primo discovery solution will help us become more efficient in managing and delivering print and electronic resources for our libraries,” said Petronella Däscher, Head of Cantonal Library Graubünden. “Integrating Alma and Primo will give us a unified system and offer significant improvements over our current system. Remote access to our e-resources and digitized media are more important than in the past.”
Ofer Mosseri, corporate vice president and general manager of Ex Libris EMEA commented, “Ex Libris is proud to continue our collaboration with Cantonal Library Graubünden and welcomes the member libraries to a global community of consortia and networks that have chosen the Alma library services platform and Primo discovery tool. We look forward to helping the libraries develop innovative services for their staff and users.”
