Value-added combination of CCS docWorks and Ex Libris DigiTool offers a powerful solution for the preservation and delivery of libraries digital collections
Hamburg, Germany—December 14, 2006. CCS GmbH, a provider of content conversion and digitization services, and Ex Libris™ (Deutschland) GmbH, a developer and provider of advanced software solutions for libraries and information centers, have reached an agreement for the integration of CCS docWORKS with the DigiTool® digital asset management tool from Ex Libris.
With its robust and flexible repository, the DigiTool solution includes facilities for the long-term archiving, management, and presentation of digital content. docWORKS converts content to a high-quality digital format while preserving the text, metadata, and compound structures of the original material. The collaboration between CCS and Ex Libris will enable DigiTool to support compound digital objects created by CCS in the Metadata Encoding and Transmission Standard (METS) format, rendering the DigiTool system a natural digital-asset environment for CCS customers. Similarly, DigiTool customers will be able to take advantage of the sophisticated technical services provided by CCS.
CCS docWORKS complements DigiTool and will provide libraries with a faster and more efficient workflow, commented Ullrich Jüngling, sales director of Ex Libris (Deutschland). Customers of both companies will benefit from this integrated solution.
