The Leganto reading-list tool provides an engaging, collaborative, and easy-to-use environment for both instructors and students
Adelaide, Australia—August 31, 2015. Ex Libris® Group, a world leader in the provision of library automation solutions, is pleased to announce that Curtin University in Australia has joined the early-adopter program for the Leganto reading-list solution.
The Leganto solution offers innovative services for the creation, maintenance, and use of course reading lists in higher education. Tightly integrated with an institution’s course management, library management, and discovery systems, as well as with third party systems and services, Leganto supports automated cross-system workflows and forms a collaborative, engaging environment for instructors and students. Statistics and insights provided by Leganto analytics help libraries identify trends and plan resource acquisition and subscriptions. With Leganto, libraries can optimally support teaching and learning at their institution.
Curtin University’s selection of Ex Libris Leganto stemmed from a desire to enrich students’ learning experience, better manage copyright compliance and adherence to license terms, and create a seamless integration between the library and learning systems. By joining the early-adopter program, Curtin University will be able to share its understanding of the complexities involved in providing reading resources to students and thus contribute to the development of a reading-list solution that it is a good fit for Curtin and the region.
”We are excited to be joining the early-adopter program,” commented University Librarian Catherine Clark. ”We look forward to providing Curtin students with an improved learning experience through the implementation of Leganto, a leading-edge reading-list solution that will be closely integrated with the current library and learning systems.”
Shlomi Kringel, corporate vice president for discovery and delivery solutions at Ex Libris, remarked: ”We are happy to welcome Curtin University to the Leganto early-adopter program. Together, we aim to increase instructors’ and students’ engagement in the learning process and maximize the contribution of reading lists to that process, with the library playing a major role in facilitating the selection and delivery of quality, copyright-cleared materials.”
