Staff members and users will benefit from streamlined workflows and increased integration across University departments
London, UK — November 26 , 2014. Ex Libris® Group, a world leader in the provision of library automation solutions, is pleased to announce that Edinburgh Napier University is live with Ex Libris Alma. After choosing the Primo® discovery solution to improve the search experience for users, the Library decided to move their management system into the 21st century to help realize the University’s strategic vision, further improve the end-user experience, and simplify workflows.
Alma’s streamlined approach to library operations has enabled staff members at Edinburgh Napier University to transform their management of electronic resources and to manage their print and digital collections through a single unified system. In addition to seamless integration with the Primo discovery and delivery solution, Library Managers saw the benefits to be gained from integrating their library system with HR, finance, and Student Record Systems. The Library Managers will also be harnessing Alma’s powerful Analytics module to enable staff to make decisions based on accurate and easy-to-produce usage statistics.
Chris Pinder, Director of Information Services at Edinburgh Napier University, commented: ”Our successful implementation of Alma builds on our recent deployment of Primo and, together, these two products help us play our part in supporting and realising important elements of the University’s strategic vision i.e. an excellent student experience, innovation and, of course, efficiency.”
”We are delighted with the support and encouragement that we have had from Ex Libris because it has allowed our own staff to achieve the ambitious objective of going live before the start of term,” said Margaret Lobban, Assistant Director (Customer Services). ”The project team has worked very hard to achieve this and their enthusiasm and knowledge have taken the rest of the staff with them.”
Christoph Frech, regional sales director for North and West Europe, commented: ”After going live on time and on budget, we are pleased that Edinburgh Napier is the first University in Scotland benefiting from Alma in their everyday operations. Edinburgh Napier joins a strong community of 13 libraries in the UK that are live with Alma and we hope that many other Universities in Scotland will follow this example of a successful migration to the next-generation Alma library solution.”
