North America’s leading Liberal Arts College has selected the Ex Libris cloud solutions to deliver unified resource management and discovery
Chicago, IL—October 29, 2015. Ex Libris® Group, a world leader in the provision of library automation and preservation solutions, is pleased to announce that Williams College Libraries has selected Ex Libris Alma® for resource management and Ex Libris Primo® for resource discovery and delivery. The Libraries will be replacing its Innovative Interfaces Millennium integrated library system and adopting its first discovery solution.
A member of the Boston Library Consortium, Williams College joins fellow members Boston University, Boston College, University of Connecticut, and others by adopting the Alma and Primo solutions. Alma will enable the Library to manage and deliver a single, cloud-based platform for all its information resources, regardless of format or location. Users will use Primo to readily discover and seamlessly access resources without searching separate systems for different collections or types of information.
”Primo’s single search environment will be an exciting addition to our libraries services,” commented David Pilachowski, Director of Libraries at Williams College. ”We take pride in delivering excellent services to our users. We also look forward to revising workflows and gaining efficiencies made possible by Alma.”
”Ex Libris is honored to expand its relationship with Williams and we are excited to see how the institution will continue to modernize its libraries—an effort evident in the new Sawyer Library which juxtaposes the oldest and rarest of books with state-of-the-art technology and digital collections,” remarked Eric Hines, president of Ex Libris North America. ”Williams’ selection of Primo as their first discovery solution will ensure that patrons can more easily access these valuable collections, while Alma will offer actionable intelligence allowing the library to create demand-driven collection development, further optimizing the resources available to patrons.”
