Streamlined workflows and powerful analytics save the Library valuable time and resources
London, UK—December 1, 2014. Ex Libris® Group, a world leader in the provision of library automation solutions, is pleased to announce that Anglia Ruskin University in the United Kingdom has gone live with Ex Libris Alma®. The next-generation library management solution is enabling the Library to release valuable staffing resources by streamlining workflows and has introduced highly-intuitive user interfaces that minimise the need for staff training. As a fully cloud-based solution, Alma has also freed-up the resources previously allocated to server and hardware maintenance as well as backups and troubleshooting, thus allowing staff to concentrate on more user-focused activities.
”Alma is designed to manage a 21st century library collection and service. Given the shifting balance of our collection from print to electronic resources, we realised that in order to develop and future proof our services, it is important to have a system that can manage electronic, digital and print resources as one holistic collection,” commented Nicky Kershaw, University Librarian.
”Alma Analytics will help us evaluate collection usage and this in turn will help us to manage our resource budgets more effectively. Not having to manage servers, security, and backups with Alma is a bonus on top of the efficiencies we hope to make through ”back-of-house” automated workflows. We know that our students will appreciate the auto-renewal facility we have been able to introduce. The project was challenging for the team, but the implementation and go-live went very smoothly and the Ex Libris team were very responsive and helpful. The initial response of our staff to Alma is extremely positive.”
Christoph Frech, regional sales director for northern and western Europe, stated: ”We are delighted to welcome Anglia Ruskin to the growing UK Alma community. Alma will empower the Library to meet their strategic vision of providing accessible, innovative, and responsive library services. I look forward to seeing the Library develop with Alma over the coming years.”
