After just one decade, Ex Libris customers include some of the most distinguished academic and research institutions in North America
_x000D_Ex Libris™ Group celebrated the tenth anniversary of the first installation of the company’s full-featured ALEPH® integrated library system in North America at the University Libraries of the University of Notre Dame and the libraries of Saint Mary’s College of Notre Dame, IN*, Holy Cross College of Notre Dame, IN, and Bethel College of Mishawaka, IN. To commemorate this occasion, library and Ex Libris management gathered at the University of Notre Dame Hesburgh Library to take a walk down memory lane and hold discussions on future directions and strategies.

In addition to ALEPH, we also have SFX®, MetaLib®, Verde®, and DigiTool®,” said Jennifer Younger, director, University Libraries of Notre Dame. “Ex Libris’ products and services enable us to deliver the most up-to-date and relevant information to our patrons in a quick, efficient, and user-friendly manner.”
_x000D_The company’s first state-of-the-art integrated library system, ALEPH, was developed more than 25 years ago. Today, ALEPH is used in more than 2,000 academic and research libraries and consortia worldwide, more than 400 of which are in the United States. The Voyager® integrated library system, also by Ex Libris, runs at more than 800 sites in North America.
_x000D_“While ALEPH was the company’s foundation product, today we offer a full product suite for electronic, digital, and print materials,” said Robert Mercer, president of Ex Libris North America. “By collaborating closely with our customers, we continue to address the evolving requirements of libraries in the high-tech era.”
_x000D_Since the installation of ALEPH at Notre Dame ten years ago, the Ex Libris customer base has seen tremendous growth in North America and now serves more than 2,000 customers, including 45 of the top 50 North American universities and 94 of 123 American Research Library (ARL) members. Ex Libris products run in 73 countries worldwide and are represented in 33 national libraries.
