Ex Libris Alma library services platform has been chosen by eight institutions under French National Framework Agreement
Paris, France—October 17, 2017. Ex Libris®, a ProQuest company, is pleased to announce that the Ex Libris Alma® library services platform has won a place in the French national Système de gestion de bibliothèque mutualisé (SGBm) library management system framework agreement. The competitive process for the framework and the tenders awarded under it are managed by the Agence bibliographique de l’enseignement supérieur (ABES), the French agency that provides bibliographic services to over 60% of French higher education institutions.
The SGBm agreement enables members to purchase their next-generation library services platform in a controlled competitive tender process. To date the Alma platform has been selected by the first SGBm pilot sites—the Université de Montpellier, the Université de Bordeaux, and members of the Université Fédérale Toulouse Midi-Pyrénées. The Bibliothèque communautaire et interuniversitaire de Clermont-Ferrand (BCIU), the Cité des Sciences et de l’lndustrie (CSI) and the Université du Littoral Côte d’Opale (BULCO) also chose Alma, as did the Université du Havre and the Université de Caen.
Ofer Mosseri, corporate vice president and general manager of Ex Libris EMEA, commented, ”Our success with the pilot contracts clearly shows the importance of the tight integration that is possible between Alma and the systems commonly used in France. The Paris-based Ex Libris team of solution and implementation experts has worked closely with our many French customers over the years and will continue to do so to bring the full benefits of our cloud-based library services platform to all French higher-education and research institutions.”
