The university library anticipates making its workflows more efficient and unifying the management of print and electronic resources
London, UK—November 8, 2017. Ex Libris®, a ProQuest company, is pleased to announce that LUISS – Libera Università Internazionale degli Studi Sociali Guido Carli is to build its new and enhanced library services on the Ex Libris Alma® platform while continuing to work with the Ex Libris Summon® discovery solution. The university will be taking advantage of Alma’s powerful analytics, streamlined workflows, and unified management of print and electronic resources.
Library Director Beatriz Villagrasa explained, ”We are in the process of renovating the library, increasing and rethinking our library spaces as well as our workflows and the services that we can offer. Alma will provide us with a single interface through which we will be able to customize and manage all of our workflows. The Alma integration capabilities will help us manage the diverse print and electronic resources that are the core of our collections. With Alma analytics, we will track the use of our collections and determine the best way to invest our budget.”
The move to Alma will enable LUISS to create seamless library workflows to manage print and electronic resources and take advantage of detailed statistics that will help the library better plan and optimize its resources and collections.
Ofer Mosseri, corporate vice president and general manager of Ex Libris EMEA, commented, ”We welcome LUISS to our growing community of Alma users in Italy. The university will be joining over a thousand Alma institutions worldwide that are benefiting from highly efficient workflows, reduction in the cost of managing and maintaining library hardware and IT infrastructure, and the enhancement of patron services.”
