Alma was chosen to unify all library operations and enable seamless integration with users’ discovery experience via Ex Libris Primo
Chicago, IL—January 29, 2014. Ex Libris® Group, a world leader in the provision of library automation solutions, is pleased to announce that Kansas State University (K-State) has selected the Ex Libris Alma library management solution. Replacing multiple systems including Ex Libris Voyager®, Alma will streamline operations at K-State Libraries by providing a cloud-based, open, and unified platform for all collections, that integrates smoothly with both external campus systems and the Libraries’ Ex Libris Primo® discovery solution.
Interoperability was a key driver in the Libraries’ selection of Alma, as Dean of Libraries Lori Goetsch explained: ”Alma will unify all our operations on a single platform and will enable us to enjoy complete visibility between departmental and library systems. Within the library itself we are excited about transferring our multiple processes to Alma and thereby eliminating technical burdens and duplicate workflows in a single move. The analytics capability of Alma will boost our understanding of collection usage, particularly for electronic resources, and will thereby facilitate further efficiencies—on top of those made possible by Alma’s automated workflows.”
