Streamlined workflows and simple, intuitive discovery and delivery are improving both the staff and user experience
London, United Kingdom—May 21, 2015. Ex Libris® Group, a global leader in library automation services, is pleased to announce that the Alma resource management solution and the Primo discovery and delivery solution are live at the Natural History Museum in London. Alma allows museum staff to manage all of the Library’s scholarly resources and media types in a unified system, while Primo enables users to search all resource types from a single user-interface, and receive a single, relevance-ranked result list.
The Museum houses a public library that is used by scientists, visiting researchers and members of the public. Given the large number of digital resources it holds, a number which is constantly growing due to a digitization project, the Museum was keen to implement a solution that handles electronic, print and digital collections in a unified and streamlined approach. The Ex Libris Primo discovery interface meets the Library’s requirements to provide users with rapid access to all collections and offer users opportunities to discover items that they might not been searching for—fulfilling the expectations of the 21st century user. The sophisticated search and ranking technology of Primo, its intuitive browsing options, and its support for serendipitous discovery enable users to easily find and seamlessly access the resources they need.
”We welcome the Museum to the ever-growing Alma and Primo community and are looking forward to working with them as they gain additional experience with Ex Libris solutions,” commented Koby Rosenthal, corporate VP and general manager of Ex Libris Europe.
