With the university’s new app, users can locate library resources and access other campus information
Adelaide, Australia—May 15, 2018. Ex Libris®, a ProQuest company, is pleased to announce that Macquarie University has joined an increasing number of institutions in Australia that have opted for the Ex Libris campusM™ mobile solution.
Powered by the campusM platform, the Macquarie University Library’s libMQ app provides access to vital library information and services on any device, on or off campus, thus helping students make the most of their library interactions. The Library is leveraging the campusM in-depth integration interfaces to offer native mobile-friendly access to library services, including the Ex Libris Primo® discovery and delivery solution. Students can use the app to search for library resources; access their library loan status; request library materials; obtain information on fees; reserve computers; access library and campus maps; and receive alerts about availability of library resources. Through the app, the Library will strengthen its role at the heart of teaching and learning.
The campusM solution provides us with a mobile platform that suits our needs, rather than needing to spend time and resources on developing apps locally.
“The campusM solution provides us with a mobile platform that suits our needs, rather than needing to spend time and resources on developing apps locally,” commented Fiona Burton, Associate University Librarian for Macquarie University. “We also believe that libMQ will serve as an excellent way of promoting library services among our new cohort of students.”
Ziv BenZvi, vice president of Ex Libris Asia Pacific, said, “We are truly pleased to welcome Macquarie University Library to the growing number of institutions throughout Australia that are using the campusM mobile solution. We know how important the library is to students, and the Macquarie app will give them the tools to find the resources they need. We are hoping that the library app marks the first step in the university’s use of the campusM capabilities to engage students, staff, and community members.”
