Alma will increase efficiency by providing unified resource management of all the library’s collections, regardless of location or format
Singapore—July 11, 2013. Ex Libris® Group, a world leader in the provision of library automation solutions, is pleased to announce that Seoul National University (SNU) has selected the next-generation Alma library management solution. SNU is the first Korean institution to join the Alma early-adopter program, following in the footsteps of over 160 leading institutions worldwide.
Seoul National University sought a new solution to replace its legacy library system, which no longer met the needs of library staff and users. ”We looked for a vendor that would enable us to provide world-class library services,” explained Library Director, Jihang Park, PhD. ”Alongside the construction of our state-of-the-art library building we are refreshing our strategic goals—which now encompass streamlining our operations to maximize efficiency and productivity. As a result the library will be able to focus more of its resources on supporting the academic objectives of the University.”
”We are proud to welcome Seoul National University as the first member of the Alma early-adopter program in Korea, joining the rapidly growing worldwide Alma community,” remarked Ziv BenZvi, vice president of Ex Libris Asia Pacific. ”SNU is well known for technical innovation and scholarly leadership on the global stage. The pioneering decision made by SNU will provide an important case study for future implementations of Alma in Korea.”
