Rosetta was chosen for its interoperability, data migration path, and advanced user interface
Chicago, IL—May 12, 2016. Ex Libris®, a ProQuest company, is pleased to announce that the Center for Jewish History (CJH) has selected the Ex Libris Rosetta digital asset management and preservation solution to support the collections of the Center’s five partner organizations: American Jewish Historical Society, American Sephardi Federation, Leo Baeck Institute, Yeshiva University Museum, and YIVO Institute for Jewish Research.
The collections of the Center’s partners comprise the world’s largest and most comprehensive archive of the modern Jewish experience outside of Israel, spanning a thousand years. The collections include more than five miles of archival documents, over 500,000 volumes, and thousands of artworks, textiles, ritual objects, recordings, films, and photographs.
The Center for Jewish History sought a system that would handle both long-term digital preservation and robust management of digital assets. ”We had a comprehensive list of requirements,” explained Laura Leone, director of archive and library services, ”including interoperability with our constellation of discovery systems, data migration from Ex Libris DigiTool® and third-party systems, integrated and customizable reporting, batch process automation, and an advanced browser-based user interface. After a thorough search process, we chose Rosetta and are excited to begin working with the new system.”
Eric Hines, president of Ex Libris North America, remarked: ”We are particularly excited that our Rosetta solution, developed in Israel, will now support the Center for Jewish History’s vital efforts to preserve Jewish historical documents and digital collections. We are also looking forward to continuing our close relationship with the Center for Jewish History and to witnessing the contribution that the Center and its partners will make to Rosetta’s active, collaborative user community.”
