The Ex Libris™ Group is pleased to announce that the Hradec Kralove library, a major research library in the Czech Republic, has chosen ALEPH® 500 to be its new integrated library system.
After a comparative analysis of a large number of systems, we decided that ALEPH 500 is the most appropriate for our needs, said Eva Svobodova, Director of the Library. We evaluated the level of functionality offered in large international and national libraries, and believe that the ALEPH 500 solution is flexible enough to meet the varied needs of our readers and our librarians. ALEPH 500 is able to fulfil all our demands because it consists of modular and flexible components, which are easily connected in different ways. It is a tool that delivers relevant information to end-users in a quick and user-friendly manner. System implementation started in December 2005, and full operation is expected in the near future. Our goal is to provide modern information services in a modern, newly constructed information centre. We believe that ALEPH 500 is the right choice for our library, and will improve the quality of services the library provides.

About the Research Library in Hradec Kralove:
The Research Library of Hradec Kralove is open to the general public, and serves as a cultural, educational and information services center for the city of Hradec Kralove and the surrounding region. Its broad range of services and extensive holdings assure equal and unlimited access to cultural resources and information found in both book collections and new electronic media. This important regional library contains books and periodicals produced of Eastern Bohemia as well as historical collections including 4,000 early print books. The library boasts strong affiliations with other district and municipal libraries in the region. A modern library complex is under construction and should be completed by 2008.
