The Ex Libris cloud-based solutions will integrate two disparate libraries, provide seamless discovery, and enable the university to preserve digital assets in perpetuity.
Chicago, IL—October 21, 2015. Ex Libris® Group, a leading global provider of library automation solutions, is pleased to announce that the University of Alabama at Birmingham (UAB) has decided to adopt the Ex Libris Alma® library management service, Primo® discovery and delivery solution, and Rosetta digital asset management and preservation solution. The university libraries will be migrating from various systems, including the SirsiDynix Symphony® integrated library system (ILS) and the Ex Libris Voyager® ILS.
UAB sought systems that would enable it to integrate the operations and processes of two independent libraries under a single technology platform. The unified Alma workflows will provide a firm foundation for this merger, and the easy-to-use Primo interface will support users who seek items from both libraries. Rosetta’s end-to-end digital asset infrastructure will preserve digital resources at both libraries and keep such resources accessible for future generations.
