The next-generation library management and reading-list solutions will be major contributors to excellence in teaching and research at the university
London, UK—November 2, 2015. Ex Libris® Group, a leading global provider of cloud-based solutions for higher education, is pleased to announce that the University of Bath is to replace its SirsiDynix Symphony® integrated library system with the Ex Libris Alma® library management service. At the same time, the University is adopting the Leganto® reading-list solution from Ex Libris.
University Librarian Kate Robinson commented: ”The needs of the library and our users have changed enormously over the years. With the new solution in place, we will be able to eliminate the large number of spreadsheets we currently use, be able to adapt workflows to meet changes in service delivery, such as the management of metadata for e-book collections, and efficiently generate reports to help us manage costs and collections more effectively.”

The newest addition to the Ex Libris product suite, Leganto is a standalone, cloud-based service for creating, maintaining, evaluating, using, and sharing course reading lists. Leganto facilitates collaboration between lecturers, librarians and students, and helps the library to become a more active partner in the teaching and learning processes, provides more control over copyright compliance, and helps librarians to develop collections to optimally serve the institution’s academic goals.
